The PR team from Spies Hecker accompanied the VARIO motorhome paintwork of the new Platinum land yacht in early March.

Pre-mixed | ready for use

The Permafleet Hi-TEC basecoat used here in Hamilton Silver is based on advanced waterborne coating technology by Axalta. For the outstanding colour accuracy of the high-quality paint finish, Christof Rambau, master painter in VARIOmobil’s exclusive body and paint department, has the colours delivered precisely pre-mixed.

The paint is applied jointly with journeyman Vadim Brum and apprentice automotive painter Jannis Hericks. Compared to conventional paint application methods, the gravity-feed spray gun allows the basecoat surface of the 12 m long and nearly 4 m high sidewall of the VARIO Perfect 1200 to be atomised more evenly. The motorhome body painted here (originally the term for a magnificent carriage; see Baroque#Transport and coachbuilding) is finished with a high-end clear coat as a representative luxury vehicle after the flash-off phase of the metallic basecoat.

With this, the first milestone of this dream motorhome has been reached. The premium metallic paint finish refines this motorhome innovation with multiple slide-outs: world premiere at the end of August 2023. Stay tuned for the finished luxury touring vehicle.
