Today, more than 60 colleagues work at the company site in Bohmte, Lower Saxony, as problem-solvers, idea generators and hands-on contributors.

In our small, high-performance teams, dedicated employees work on specific projects such as electrical installation or metal construction. This is where bright minds meet hands-on people who are ready to get involved – including journeymen, skilled workers, engineers, workshop foremen, apprentices and trainers.

Talented young professionals in motorhome construction are in particularly high demand. Many have already become winners in their trade. Trained as vehicle builders, painters or carpenters, they go on to become guild, chamber, vice and even national champions in their craft. Training in vehicle construction technology is diverse, and the leisure vehicle and business vehicle segment has a strong future.

The training

to become a body and vehicle construction mechanic, for example, is highly varied in content: at the beginning, manual and automotive fundamentals are taught. At VARIOmobil, this is complemented by specialized knowledge of leisure and business vehicles. Fully trained specialists have excellent career prospects: as all-round talents in caravaning, they can work in many different areas.

The level of effort and technical complexity involved in building a luxury motorhome can best be compared to building a house.

A class of its own. A travel real estate property, perhaps? And nothing has changed since the company was founded in 1981. Construction uses state-of-the-art technology and the highest-quality materials.

VARIOmobil Managing Director Frank Mix clearly explains the manufactory standard of his business philosophy: “Special requests are our specialty.” There are no series-produced vehicles. “Every hatch, every door, every bumper: all parts are manufactured to the millimeter and produced individually for each vehicle,” he explains.

In addition to digital development work, especially in production, custom “prototype construction,” quality assurance or service and customer support, manual craftsmanship is highly valued. A strong affinity for technology – including repair and maintenance of vehicles – is essential. Equally important is responsibility and oversight in purchasing and logistics for production, service, retrofitting and upgrading of motorhomes and business vehicles, as well as sourcing accessories.

A wide range of management and administrative activities rounds off the VARIOmobil craft-based business. Here too, short distances, small teams and in-house solutions ensure clear and efficient processes.
